Why PVSites?

Any particular technology might make sense by

itself, but that item is always mixed with so many

others. The effect is that you work environment

because complicated and confusing.

And guess what?

Technology is not your business. Why are you

spending so much time figuring out this

technology stuff when technology is supposed to

just be a tool to make things easier for your

business?

A Day in the Life:

  • You have that one computer that doesn’t want to print to your main printer

  • You have that other computer that never shows PDF documents correctly

  • You wonder about moving to Vista, is it needed? Should you wait?

  • You know full well you have no back-up system in place, it’s in the back of your mind, but you’re not sure what to do about it.

  • You know it would be nice to have some sort of automated invoicing system, but you’re too busy with other things to give it much more thought.

  • You’re deathly afraid of anyone ever touching, ever, your main server. You recall that it was moved once and then things were down for days.

  • You know your website just isn’t cutting it anymore, but that’s just one of many problems you don’t have time for. You didn’t really have good luck with that last group you worked with, and they sure seemed to drop you when the site was “done”. You’re not really looking forward to going through all that again.

  • You know you’ll be needing new computers soon. And what about the idea of your staff using iTouches or some other tool. You might think it a good idea for your business, but how would you implement it? Who would do the training?

The above describes most small businesses.

Technology is a difficult thing to figure out and

few have figured it out by themselves.

The idea I’d like to give you is this: all of the

above are a part of a systems problem. PVSites

specializes in technology architecture. We

simplify systems by making things more

organically inter-related, and thereby more

people-friendly. We cleanup the troublesome

areas, and then the focus is all on proactive

measures and risk prevention. All things need

to do is work and stay relevant. That’s not an

easy trick to pull off, but we are very, very good

at it.

If you’d like a free consultation, please give a call

or send an email. What we provide is a professional

maintenance program. It’s monthly. It’s pay as

you go. There’s no commitment required on your

part. It’s on us to make you happy.

Talk to you soon.

The Crossing

The Crossing is an interdenominational campus ministry on the UW-Madison Campus for some 500 students and non-students alike. The administration wanted an attractive site, but it had to be functional. They also needed the extra power that a fully database-driven site can provide, as their prior had gotten out of date. This project met with one challenge after another and its current state is a testament to dedication, persaverence, and an overriding ambition to be excellent regardless of the challenges along the way.

The DeForest Area Chamber of Commerce

The DeForest Area Chamber of Commerce has about 200 charter members. And they had a big problem: a horribly convoluted website that was about as un-people-friendly as you can get. The new design focuses on simplicity and ease of navigation. In addition, it now has a people-friendly vibe to it. Lots of photos and images. Now people like it. Now it's a good foundation for going forward: to promote upcoming events, to take credit card orders for future events.

MadCity Marine/RV Sales Inc.

This site needed to list both new and used marine equipment and RV's. In addition to a clean layout with simple navigation, there was a great desire for a simple back-end. You see, the previously owned merchandise moves quickly, and they needed a way to keep the site updated in a very easy manner that didn't take them away from business. The template solution on the back-end was custom-designed for this purpose and has fit the bill nicely. Notice also how the site focuses on photos and people. This is a real location here and you're dealing with real people. We are not into the current trend of anonymous websites that forget that the only purpose of a website is for people to deal and communicate with other people.

Manthe Lawn Care

This is the first site for what is a growing local landscaping business. The need was to get online, providing both contact and services information in an easy and accessible manner, and make the whole thing attractive. In addition to the attractive layout with simple navigation, the site has a strong foundation going forward. While the site may be published, the project is ongoing. An idea we'll be implementing is incorporating video as a mechanism for providing information on materials and process.

Menominee Pines Farm

Dee wanted an attractive site with lots of photos to show off her prize winning horses. The design was kept simple and focused on attractiveness and photos. Notice right under the main logo you can see the stud fees. Let's not lose site that this is a business and people need to know that. Dee has had tremendous feedback from fellow horse-lovers who love the site.

Ziegler Landscaping

This was a first-time website for Ziegler, and they had a focus on attractiveness and were looking for a strong mix of photos and info, including services rendered. This turned out to be one of the more challenging sites to work on for varying reasons, but the end-result has been satisfying.

Town of Burke

As is unfortunately often the case, the Town of Burke was displeased with their current site, not only for looks but also for maintenance. Site upkeep demands simple updating procedures for staff, and if something needs to be done that the staff cannot handle, then there needs to be support available. Town of Burke has that now.

Devil's Lake Vacation House

This was a first-time website for this retreat house venture. There was a focus on attractiveness, simplicity, and photos, photos, photos. Like many others have thought before, the idea was to get the website online to gain exposure. This site needs a strong personal connection so that the visitor really understands how enjoyment the owners of the retreat house have with the house.

Marvin's Brick Pavers

Marvin's Brick Paver's was looking for a more modern, attractive site to better represent themselves and what they do. After a highly collaborative period, their new site was born.

I am pleased to recommend Phil Scanlan without reservation.

For the past couple of years, Phil has been our Web Technician/Master at The Crossing.

Phil is passionate about his work and communicates his considerable knowledge and expertise with clarity, honesty and sensitivity.

Moreover, in our case, he is able to break down complex technical issues and jargon to a level even a neophyte and/or technologically challenged person can understand.  His goal is always to make things simpler and user friendly while unleashing more possibilities to further the reach, use and functionality of the web.  The fact that he can do all of this without compromising the integrity of the mission of the organization—in our case---a small non-profit--- is amazing.

Phil is a person of the highest integrity who brings incredible gifts and commitment to his work.

Respectfully,

Douglas M Pierce
